For the first 15 years of my career, I was a technology reporter, but now technology is so pervasive that I look at any product or practice that could use an upgrade. I am currently the Consumer and Technology Correspondent for ABC’s Good Morning America. I started as a TV producer in Seattle at the ABC affiliate KOMO TV, and then when an upstart TV network about computers and the Internet started, I knew I had to jump in. It was a dream come true: TV + Tech= TechTV. During my 6 years at TechTV, I produced 3 different shows, hosted a live, hour-long computer help call-in show, and eventually anchored one of their newscasts. From there I started making guest appearances on Good Morning America as a tech expert and was eventually hired as the network’s technology contributor. I've appeared on World News with Diane Sawyer & David Muir, Nightline, and 20/20 along with my daily job at Good Morning America. For the last 20 years I have reported on new tech trends, parenting techniques, safety issues, Black Friday sales, health and wellness, environmental practices, groceries, fashion.... basically anything you plan to purchase, I have probably reviewed it. I have hosted shows for the Travel Channel, the National Geographic Channel, and the Fine Living Network. I've also had the incredible pleasure of traveling around the world to film two documentaries about green energy technology. I wrote a book called "Security Alert: Stories of Real People Protecting themselves from Viruses, Identity Theft, and Scams." I have a master's degree from Stanford University. I graduated through a program called "Learning, Design, and Technology" that focuses on computer science and education. I was raised on the island of Maui, attended Middlebury College in Vermont, and currently live in Oakland, CA with my partner and 17-year-old twins. I strongly believe in the power of FUN, and I take every opportunity I can to ski, fish, surf, and mountain bike. I played rugby for 15 years and was part of some amazing teams including the Berkeley All-Blues and the development program for the US Eagles. I also have mad ukulele skills!
