For three years, I have been with the local NBC affiliate KTIV, in my hometown. I began as a digital content producer, editing content for the station's website and various social media platforms. A new opportunity presented itself as the primary producer of the 6 & 10 newscasts. After a temporary hiatus I spent time as a videographer and editor before transitioning to Assignment Manager.I got into the news industry through Western Iowa Tech Community College, where I began with the dream of anchoring the news. There I worked on the two news shows produced on campus. It was after that I realized I wanted to produce. In the school setting I learned many news room skills, not just anchoring and producing, but I was also tasked with various operations such as; operating cameras in the field and the studio, using and running prompter software, and editing both scripts using programs like Microsoft Office Suite to editing software like Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve.My ability to work alone or in groups for projects gives a wider array of deployability on assignments.
