I'm a business reporter at The Baltimore Banner, a non-profit newsroom in Baltimore, Maryland. I primarily write business and enterprise stories on the City of Baltimore and its surrounding counties. I was previously a finance reporter at Word In Black, a non-profit newsroom serving Black communities in several cities across the country, and a 2023-2024 Poynter-Koch Media Journalism Fellow. My work covered personal finance, financial literacy, small businesses, the economy, and the Black community.I was also a Special Projects Editor at Business Insider for over three years, creating and managing numerous editorial projects. Project topics covered personal finance, technology, small businesses, leadership, and sustainability. I joined the company as a Special Projects fellow in 2019 and became Editor in 2021.I received my Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism from California State University, Dominguez Hills. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and with honors in the major.
