I'm a writer, reporter and editor with over 3 years of in-field experience. As a journalism and English major who's passionate about telling others' stories, I'm especially interested in taking up work that looks at issues affecting local communities, education, and political reporting. I've worked for various publications as a reporter and editor for the past several years, and am a current senior writer for my university paper, The Daily Gamecock. I've previously worked as a copyediting intern at various metro magazines, and am now taking on a reporting internship at the Triangle-area publication INDY Week. My writing is always person-focused, and emphasizes the voice and intent behind my reporting's subjects. I pride myself on creating engaging and conversational text that encourages readers to keep going, while also not losing out on any important details. I'm looking to gain more experience in a traditional newsroom environment, and am especially interested in reporting on issues of education, small businesses and local and state politics.
