I’m working on a feature about destinations where travelers can see vintage and restored neon signs. I’m seeking examples from neon museums, sign parks, historic districts, Route 66 communities and small towns across the United States. Because our audience is made up of motorcoach travelers, I’m not looking to feature specific motels. In your pitch, can you include details like: A brief description of the neon signs or collection What makes the signs historically or artistically significant Any other interesting facts about the neon collection - what makes it unique to the region? Link to images Optional: Do you have a neon expert, curator or preservationist who can be interviewed? TY!

Hello! I’m working on a national travel feature about the revival of vintage neon signs. Long before Instagram-worthy murals, glowing signs drew travelers to roadside motels, diners, theaters and other landmarks. Today, artists and preservationists are restoring these mid-century treasures and keeping the handcrafted art form alive. I’m looking to hear from neon sign makers, restoration experts, museum professionals or preservationists who can answer a couple of the questions below. Please answer whatever jumps out at you! - Why is neon experiencing a revival? - What makes historic neon signs challenging to restore? - What distinguishes traditional neon from newer LED signage Please include your name, title, organization, location, relevant expertise and contact information. I’m looking for experts who work directly with neon rather than general trend forecasters.
