Claim your profileI’m Brooke, an Oregon-based reporter, editor, and connoisseur of half-sour pickles. As the editor of Eater Portland, I write about the city's food and beverage industry, including the labor movement, restaurant openings and closings, culinary trends, and identity politics within the kitchen. I am also a regular contributor to Eater.com, representing the Pacific Northwest and exploring the role of food in film and television. My work has appeared in the Arizona Republic, the Boston Globe, and USA TODAY, among others. At the 2023 James Beard Media Awards, I won the Jonathan Gold Local Voice Award, a prize for a reporter who “engages readers through enterprising food and dining coverage, and whose work displays versatility in form.” Take a look, and reach out if you have any questions!
