I'm an award-winning journalist who now divides his time between PR, media consultancy, magazine editing, ghostwriting, hosting radio and TV shows and performing master of ceremonies duties at awards events, conferences etc. I've also been a movie critic/writer, for over 25 years.IN PRINT: I worked in the newspaper industry for 27 years, and regularly edited the Shropshire Star daily newspaper from 2001-2014, as well as heading up the features and supplements department at the Wolverhampton-based Express & Star, and spending a decade as the Shropshire Star's Business Editor. I'm now the editor of B2B glossy Shropshire Business, and have collaborated on or ghostwritten several books spanning the worlds of film, music, business and food.ON THE RADIO: I have had regular slots on BBC Radio since 1999, as well as appearing on several commercial stations across the West Midlands. You can hear me on BBC Shropshire talking about movies and new streaming releases every week. I have also presented the afternoon, drivetime and Sunday magazine shows on BBC Shropshire, and produce/present regular film-related special radio shows, as well as hosting a Sunday afternoon show on Shropshire Live Radio, from 2-4pm.ON THE TELLY: I have worked with Sue Perkins on Sky TV's 'Movie Babylon' and appeared on BBC's The One Show. I hosted both live and pre-recorded shows during three years with Made In Birmingham TV and its predecessor, Big Centre TV, covering the Black Country and Birmingham - a business programme, and a news and current affairs chat show, as well as reading the news, hosting live studio election debates, and providing movie news and reviews for their weekday evening entertainment show. I'm currently a presenter and producer on Shropshire Business Live TV (sbltv.co.uk)ON THE STAGE: I hosted the travelling theatre tour with John 'Boycie' Challis from 2015-21 around all corners of the UK, and worked on theatre events with other celebrities from political heavyweight Alan Johnson to musicians such as Lulu, Paul Young and Francis Rossi, comic Dom Joly, and sporting legends such as Sir Geoff Hurst. I'm working with Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder on a touring show in 2024/25.WHAT ELSE? I am a master of ceremonies for hire, working on conferences, festivals, business and community events. I also run media training sessions, create podcasts, and supply voiceovers for promotional videos. I'm a labrador-owning supporter of the mighty Wolverhampton Wanderers, a huge fan of the 007 movies, and have also represented Great Britain at tenpin bowling!
