Chaz hosted the #1 rated 'First Impressions with Chaz Kangas' and was a CityPages 2019 & 2020 Readers' Choice Best Minnesota Radio Personality finalist. Prior to radio, Chaz regularly contributed to The New York Times, Complex, Village Voice, LA Weekly, City Pages and amNewYork. Currently residing in his hometown Minneapolis, MN, Chaz moved back in 2016 after 11 years in Harlem, NY, where he taught after-school music, dance and basketball programs for high school sophomores and juniors, and was named Bank Street College's 2011 Teacher of the Year.
