After three years there, AOL hired me to create something similar and, today, Breaking Defense is the preeminent defense news magazine. Breaking Defense has expanded substantially over the last five years, more than tripling our editorial staff. Our revenue has soared by more than 500 percent. Before that I was founding editor of Washington Aerospace Brief for Space News and served as editor of Defense News. Before that I spent four years covering African famines, coups, civil wars and politics for print and radio. I appear regularly as a defense expert, including on Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Al Jazeera and other US and international television and radio ranging from C-Span to Canadian Broadcasting to Sky News Australia.
