Courtney R. Scott works as an Assignment Editor at CBS 2 Chicago. She previously worked for WVON AM1690 as the producer for The Matt McGill Morning Show and The Cliff Kelley Show.Scott became one of the youngest morning show producers in the third largest broadcast market after serving as an Associate Producer for The Santita Jackson Show. Her persistence and ability to make snap decisions allow her to work well under pressure. In addition to her duties as producer, Scott was responsible for WVON’s social media strategy where she focused on expanding the station’s brand among the next generation of thoughtleaders. She is also a leader and regular volunteer in the television ministry at New Life Covenant Church Southeast, the church she attends regularly. A graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Radio/Television with a specialization in Media Industries and a minor in Speech Communications. Although her affinity is with radio, Scott’s goal is to produce for a network news station. In the future she hopes to create television projects that shape public opinion while inspiring people worldwide.
