Hey, I’m Damien Bartonek, and I’m stoked to be stepping into a new chapter as a Sports and News Producer and Anchor at CBS 19 KYTX in Tyler, Texas! I’ve been grinding in the sports and news game for a while now—cutting my teeth with outlets like SB Nation and FanSided, where I blogged, broke down games, and geeked out over stats and stories. Most recently, I spent two and a half awesome years at FOX West Texas in San Angelo, where I kicked off my on-air career. That gig was a dream come true—covering everything from sports highlights to breaking news, weather, and even manhunts, while building real connections with the West Texas communities. Saying goodbye on February 14, 2025, was bittersweet, but I’m beyond excited to trade West Texas for East Texas and bring my energy to Tyler.At CBS 19, I’ll be producing and anchoring, which means I’m hyped to dig into the local scene—think high school football madness, UT Tyler sports, and the news that keeps East Texas ticking. I’ll be crafting segments, writing scripts, and delivering it all on-air with a vibe that’s real and relatable. I’m all about telling the stories that matter, whether it’s a buzzer-beater or a community headline, and I can’t wait to connect with Tyler viewers.
