For me, news is about balancing what's important with what people are talking about, and my combining this mindset with digital analytics has put me on a journey that's included: * appearing on national radio * making viral social media videos * live social media reporting on domestic terrorism * overseeing digital news videos made around the world * line managing a digital news team into a pandemic.Because I started out as a radio journalist, reporting and writing the news, I know all about communicating stories clearly, concisely and with the appropriate amount of colour. Now, in my current role as digital growth editor, I'm working on strategies to increase reach and combat news avoidance -- using search, social and digital audience tools and data to find key insights and recommendations, and using my storytelling skills and experience to talk about data, differently.
