Claim your profileBACKGROUNDUntil very recently I held the title of Editor at Future Australia, a specialist magazine and online publisher in Sydney. Future Australia operates Australian titles on a largely licensing-based system, repurposing content from overseas publications for Australian audiences, with some local freelance content added to the mix. I edited 13 issues of TechLife (technology and gadgets) each year, six issues of PCPowerPlay (PC gaming), and two PCPP Technical Handbooks (PC hardware and upgrades). I also assisted in the production of other print titles, including APC, ProPhoto, and others. Before that I worked on Atomic and PC & Tech Authority for Haymarket Media, and then Nextmedia, and at Derwent Howard on their Special Projects division.STRENGTHSAbove all, I possess the ability to work to deadlines in an unsupervised manner, writing and sub-editing tight copy that covers a wide range of topics, from modern consumer hardware, to film, music, and online culture. I have a natural eye for detail, can write accurately & quickly, and have a broad set of knowledge and skills. I can manage teams of people while also working effectively with superiors and colleagues.
