As a generalist for newspapers and magazines and as a freelancer, I have written about government, education, crime, and more. I have specialized knowledge in the field of community planning and development, having worked for three years in a county government planning office; two years at a regional planning agency; and a total of three years as an advocate for progressive planning at non-profit organizations.
