I am an editorial leader and writer with more than 15 years of experience in journalism, with a particular focus on ideas, philosophy, business, politics, economics, sustainability, philanthropy, civil society, opinion, criticism, and reviews. I am currently the deputy editor for print at Stanford Social Innovation Review, where I edit our print quarterly magazine. I am also the cofounder and coeditor of The Raven magazine. I was for nearly three years the senior opinion editor at Al Jazeera America, where I helped to launch the opinion section of the television channel’s website from scratch and managed a team of three editors. Before that, I was the Web editor at Boston Review for three years, where I edited online features, led a redesign of the website, and helped manage social media. I have written for numerous publications, including The New York Times, USA Today, San Francisco magazine, Aeon, Bookforum, and The Baffler. Before entering journalism in 2005, I was a professor of philosophy. I am looking for new editorial and editorial leadership opportunities.
