Always striving to get the best out of myself and the people who I work with. I like to be the calm in a storm and the person who people go to for problem-solving and brainstorming. As a manager for more than 30 years, I have a strong ability to communicate and manage people to put together large projects, many times under tight deadlines. I have been the office or onsite manager for events including presidential and VP political and campaign stops, the Super Bowl, professional sports playoffs, PGA and LPGA tournaments, the 2008 DNC, city council meetings and election nights, and major breaking news. I am comfortable talking to all types of people -- from kids trying to make the Olympics to professional athletes to members of the president's cabinet. As an editor/director and always a reporter, I enjoy asking questions and gathering information. I have received a number of state and national editing and writing awards and have a strong understanding of social media. I worked in my community as the chairman of the Board of Directors for the nonprofit A Precious Child and helped start and chaired the giveSPORTS program, which we began to give sports equipment and scholarships to at-risk children. I have volunteered at my children's schools and have been a guest speaker on the best ways to fact-find and write reports to classes from elementary schools to universities. I am confident when speaking in front of large groups. I enjoy coaching people to become comfortable when they are challenged. I appreciate everything about the outdoors, having climbed 14ers, camped all around the Colorado mountains and enjoy time on the river either rafting, fly-fishing or ideally both. I am an accomplished snowboarder and spend my time in the summer outside on the golf course, striving to break 85.
