A writer and editor who holds a degree in English, I am a media professional with editorial management experience, marketing skills and the ability to manage content on a variety of platforms, from online and social media to print and advertising.I am currently the editor of Top Crop Manager - West and Potatoes in Canada with Annex Business Media.Previously, I was managing editor for custom projects at RedPoint Media and Marketing Solutions, leading the editorial for a variety of publications, including Leap and the BOMA Building Guide. I also wrote and edited featured partner campaigns, marketing copy and contributed to other in-house projects.I have also worked as a proposal writer/event coordinator, news reporter, editor for an award-winning newspaper and western bureau chief for a variety of Newcom Media publications, including Today's Trucking, Advisor's Edge and Canadian Underwriter, covering trucking, financial and insurance news in Western Canada, the U.S. and worldwide. During my career, I have moderated panels, represented my employer at trade shows and conferences and traveled throughout Canada, the U.S., Mexico and Europe.Professionally, I look for a challenge, room to progress and grow, and most importantly, to be a valuable member of a great team. My ability to adapt my writing and editing to any style is one of my greatest strengths - whether it be news, politics, entertainment, lifestyle, sports, education, business, or fiction, I can relay information in a clear, accurate, and thorough manner that both educates and entertains readers.My skill set also includes web development/maintenance (Wordpress and Saxotech), graphic design, communications and brand recognition, photography and magazine production. I am fluent on a variety of social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, as well as management tools like Hootsuite.I have presented to business owners on how to better their social media efforts, spoken to middle and high school students on ways to improve their writing skills and have been a weekly radio guest on a program that discusses issues in the transportation industry.I have also completed two mystery/thriller novels.
