Claim your profileHi! I’m Erin, a reporter based in Charlottesville, Virginia. By day (and sometimes night), I'm the neighborhoods reporter for hyper-local nonprofit newsroom Charlottesville Tomorrow, and by night, a freelance arts and culture reporter with bylines in C-VILLE Weekly, Women in Sound, Bandcamp Daily, and The Australian, among other publications. My expertise is in identifying, researching, and exploring the authentic stories that live between the music notes, that intertwine in the strokes of the artists’ paintbrush, that give breath to the human spirit. I am entrenched in award-winning storytelling that reveals the uniqueness and connectedness of our diverse community, and have a proven track record of more than nine years of excellent editorial, creative, and storytelling judgment with a warmth and perspective that serves as a catalyst for offering insight that strengthens human connection and community awareness. Most of these stories are about peoples and cultures typically left out of mainstream narratives, including independent and DIY music scenes (like punk and hip-hop), Black female muralists, seed savers, low-profile jazz legends, Aboriginal Australian photographers, Native American tribes fighting for federal recognition, night-shift workers, the clergy’s role in anti-racist activism, bizarre guerilla art, and more.I’m also a radio DJ. Every other week, I host Ye Olde Tuesday Afternoon Rocke Show on WTJU 91.1 FM Charlottesville.
