For more than 30 years I have greatly enjoyed being able to write extensively about all types of music, learn more about them and share my thoughts and discoveries, from pop, rock, jazz, blues and hip-hop to country, classical, folk, avant-garde and an array of genres from around the world. Music captures and reflects life as we know it; I hope to do the same with my writing. Sharing ideas and opinions with readers is often illuminating. Likewise, the opportunities I have had to branch out with podcasts, write for our Business and Metro sections, and host a music interview and performance video series. I have especially welcomed the opportunity to help mentor younger colleagues and students, and -- in turn -- to learn from them. Having grown up in Europe for 11 years continues to inform my world view, which has been enhanced by return visits over the years.
