Claim your profileI cover Western North Carolina rural communities as a Report for America corps member. I joined BPR in July 2024 and have since covered the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. As misinformation swirled after the storm, I published investigations into FEMA housing policies and a series of fact checks on subjects like the death toll. And I continue to report on the storm’s impact on rural communities. I also serves as BPR’s unofficial photographer. Before BPR, I worked at WLRN, South Florida's NPR station for two years, where I reported on affordable housing policy, local government accountability and the death penalty trial of the Parkland school shooter. I also covered the history of the Black community and criminal justice system in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I earned a journalism degree from Florida International University, where I served as editor-in-chief of the student newspaper.
