Claim your profileGrace Newton graduated in May 2022 from American University with a bachelor’s in journalism and a minor in art history. She works full time as an associate producer for DC’s commercial all-news radio station WTOP-FM. Grace also works part time at NPR as an associate producer for the Newscast team, helping with audio and editing to put out hourly news podcasts on a 24-hour cycle. With a strong interest in both audio journalism and politics, Grace is a co-host on The Youth Vote, a podcast started by AU-grad Lydia Calitri spotlighting the issues on the minds of young people during elections. Grace has completed various audio and television production classes in her time at AU and has four years of experience working for the student newspaper, The Eagle in both reporting and online management positions. Grace won third place in the Pinnacle College Media awards for Best Feature story with her piece Trailblazers: Meet the Black members of the AU community who made history. In the past, Grace worked as an editorial intern for Washington Life Magazine where she wrote stories about D.C. lifestyle. While interning for Washington Life, Grace also completed a three month internship with Cancer for College where she produced several short videos for the nonprofit’s marketing efforts.
