Claim your profileI have always straddled the two worlds of creative writing and science, not quite knowing how to fully devote myself to either. I crave the intellectual stimulation, curiosity, and rigor found in academic science, but am drawn to the more open-ended creative world of writing. I am now attending Johns Hopkins to pursue a Master's in science writing. In this age of misinformation is it critical that science is communicated clearly and effectively. I love the idea that we can use science writing to get future generations excited about science and teach critical thinking and curiosity at a young age. During my time at Western Washington University, I was part of a group that traveled to different elementary schools teaching basic neuroscience to kids. I loved doing this, and I have enjoyed bringing that same enthusiasm to my science writing! I am currently looking for work in the science writing, communication and journalism fields.
