Claim your profileAn Emmy-nominated journalist with a flair for eye-catching stories and a commitment to accuracy and unbiased reporting. After over fifteen years at one of the world’s leading news publications, I have reported from three continents and covered everything from Wall Street to British politics. I now lead the science team at the Financial Times, and report on the pharmaceutical industry. I reported on the Covid-19 pandemic in the US and Europe, tracking the race for a vaccine, including a series on the AstraZeneca shot; the crisis in US hospitals in a magazine front cover, and several scoops and high profile interviews, such as Lunch with the FT with Anthony Fauci. I led the FT side of a partnership with PBS Frontline to create the Opioids Inc documentary, which won a Loeb award, was nominated for an Emmy, and received an honorable mention in the SABEW awards. I was nominated for Science Journalist of the year by Association of British Science Writers. Before taking on the pharma beat, I reported on the rise (and, some might say, fall) of Big Tech from Silicon Valley from 2013 to 2019. I wrote about Facebook, other social media companies, and cyber security, including several magazine covers and Lunch with the FT interviews. As well as my work for the Financial Times, I have appeared on TV in NBC Bay Area's Press:Here show and have featured on CNBC's Closing Bell, Sky News, NPR's All Things Considered and the BBC World Service.
