Irene Wright

Irene Wright is a reporter on the McClatchy Real Time team. She covers health and science from around the globe.Irene earned a Masters of Health and Medical Journalism at the University of Georgia where she also worked as the Graduate Assistant for Krista Richmond, editor of Columns, a University of Georgia publication. Irene received her BA in Ecology, with a minor in Anthropology at the University of Georgia in May 2021. During her undergraduate education, she worked for the Odum School of Ecology communications team, was a staff writer for the Georgia Political Review, and was a student researcher for the Georgia Dolphin Ecology Program. Irene served as the Medicine and Science Reporting Fellow at Dallas Morning News for Summer 2022. There she covered healthcare, biotechnology and energy for the business desk.
