Claim your profileHi! I'm Jake Holter and I am a Reporter/Multimedia Journalist (MMJ) currently working in Providence, Rhode Island. I’ve been at WPRI for about a year and a half covering everything from bridge failures and explosions, to the housing crisis and flooding. Before that, I started my career spending 2 years in Panama City Beach, Florida at WMBB covering record-breaking wildfires and rowdy spring breakers. I collected 5 Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists Awards during my tenure at News 13. I trained at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. During my time, I did a semester-long stint in Washington DC as a political correspondent for Arizona PBS. I was 1 of 25 students nationwide to receive a White House Correspondents Association Scholarship, which helped fund my time in the nation’s captial. I excel at breaking news, political and human interest pieces. I thrive in fast-paced environments that foster creativity. I am a skilled writer and never miss a deadline. I work equally well both collaboratively and independently, and always aim to bring good energy to the newsroom. After all, we don’t have to do this work, we get to do this work.
