Claim your profileJames Drew is an award-winning journalist who has extensive experience in reporting. A former reporter in the Austin bureaus of the Houston Chronicle and The Dallas Morning News, he most recently was the state government reporter for the four McClatchy news websites/newspapers in Washington state. Drew has won several awards, including best investigative report award from the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors for reporting on irregularities in how Texas' cancer-fighting agency awarded grants. As Statehouse Bureau Chief for The (Toledo, Ohio) Blade, he and a colleague broke Ohio’s “Coingate” scandal, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for public service. He is a graduate of Indiana University, with degrees in journalism and political science.
