Claim your profileAfter eight years as flight instructor and air taxi pilot, I changed gears to follow another dream of covering the Chicago Bears. I climbed the ladder, worked as copy editor and sports editor/reporter at three newspapers, including current Rockford Register Star for 14 years. Have had Bears beat for three full seasons this stretch, and have meshed in, built a good list of strong sources, and forged solid working relationships, even some long-term friendships. I love what I do, but our news room -- and our readership! -- is dwindling fast!
