Claim your profileAs a kid, my three great pursuits were listening to music, pretending to announce sporting events, and playing basketball. Alas, slow of foot and topping out at 6'1", I wasn't bound for the NBA. But I'm blessed that my career now incorporates those other two pursuits. For the past decade or so, I've built up my freelance writing career from writing on small websites to writing for a national magazine (American Songwriter.) This affords me the opportunity to write about the music that I love so dearly and to have that writing read by far more people than I could have imagined in my wildest childhood dreams. And, even wilder than that, a humble blog that started so I could long-windedly opine on the songs of my favorite artists indirectly led to the Counting Down series of books that I've written for Rowman & Littlefield publishing. Writing is my professional passion, and I've been lucky enough to extend it beyond just music-related topics. I currently am a ghostwriter for E-Cyrano, and I've started gathering clients who utilize my editing my services. I'm hoping to expand the ghostwriting and editing sidelights as much as possible. And I make sure to keep that humble little blog as active as possible. And then there's my full-time job: For the past two decades, I've been fortunate enough to be employed as part of the broadcasting team at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono. In the last eight of those years, I've been doing my dream gig, calling the races for one of the finest harness racing establishments in the world.I'm always looking for other opportunities in the writing and broadcasting fields, but I feel extremely fortunate that my odd skill set has provided me with so many rewarding professional experiences to this point. And I can't wait to see what comes next.
