I'm building Medical Design & Outsourcing as a trusted source of medtech expertise and intelligence for medical device professionals ranging from engineers to executives. I also share medtech business scoops, exclusives and breaking news at MassDevice. Before joining WTWH Media I covered other highly-regulated industries such as finance, law and aviation, and have extensive experience in politics, government affairs and even travel. As managing editor of WTWH Media's Medical Design & Outsourcing, I write and edit coverage of medical device design, development and manufacturing. At AAA Washington, I refocused and relaunched Journey magazine to build trust with readers and move away from the travel industry’s pay-for-play practices. I developed new ethical guidelines and an editorial vision focused on independent experts and enthusiasts to put the accurate, honest service of readers above all else. It was the largest publication in the Northwest until the COVID-19 pandemic hit. I previously oversaw the Puget Sound Business Journal's print and online news operations, working to recruit, retain and develop the region's most authoritative business journalists. We delivered exclusive analysis and aggressive, actionable reporting on the most powerful people in the Seattle area. My team's reporting on the homelessness crisis was honored with a national award for public service journalism from the Society of Professional Journalists. Our newsroom regularly led all American City Business Journals publications in subscriber growth and was voted by editors across the chain as its most outstanding publication. I’ll always be proud of my newsroom’s frequent honors for excellence in beat reporting, investigations, breaking news, data analysis, photojournalism and design. At the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal I covered fraud, courts and the legal industry, banking and finance, small business and professional services before being promoted to digital editor. Before that, I produced content for several Minnesota newspapers and ABC News. The Associated Press named me its new journalist of the year for Minnesota daily newspapers in 2008.
