Claim your profileFootball clubs are part of the cultural fabric of our society. They represent the hopes, dreams and ambitions of people of all ages and backgrounds and are often the beating heart of their community. That feels particularly true in Liverpool. Everton FC is a club steeped in footballing history and tradition that also plays a pivotal role in changing lives across Merseyside with its community initiatives. In the Bramley-Moore stadium development the club is involved in one of the most important infrastructure projects on Merseyside in generations while, on the pitch, the club defines the mood of a huge and passionate fanbase every week. It is my privilege to cover the Blues and I do so up and down the country, following the club's fortunes but also looking at the wider role and impact of a storied institution on its fans and the wider community it is part of. It is a role I know I am fortunate to have. I moved over to the sports desk after more than a decade covering news on Merseyside. My previous position was as crime reporter while I also covered the criminal prosecutions linked to the Hillsborough tragedy and its aftermath. I have won - and nearly won - national and regional awards for my investigative work and public interest reporting. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
