As an Anchor/Reporter/Producer with WJBF-TV, the ABC affiliate in Augusta, Georgia, John wears a number of hats that have given him valuable experience in several different areas within the television industry and beyond. While anchoring and producing the 5:30 and 10pm newscasts on the station, John has overseen programs whose ratings have increased steadily since their inception. Today, those programs routinely beat their more established competition during each ratings period. As a producer behind the scenes, John is able to use his ambition and creativity to help reshape his industry and help it adjust to the ever-changing world of telecommunications. Among those innovations is the "Constant Newscast", during which viewers can watch traditional news on their TV, then log on to the station web site during commercial breaks for a completely different interactive experience with John and his co-anchor. As a reporter, John is constantly establishing contacts in a variety of fields and cultivating mutually beneficial business relationships with them. John's multiple roles have given him vast experience in taking complex subjects and making them understandable for a mass audience. In addition, his previous experience in a management role during his time as Sports Director at the station has given him the ability to gauge talent and develop it. John currently lives in Augusta, Georgia but frequently travels to his hometown of Atlanta and his adopted hometown of Athens...if he's not traveling somewhere else.
