I am a writer and editor with 30 years of daily journalism experience who is used to working quickly and on deadline. I have an extensive background in researching public records, applying critical analysis and searching for new and better ways to tell stories. I'm used to grappling with challenging situations and difficult people. I've mentored many young journalists over the years, some of whom are at large national newspapers. I can work alone, but I also have experience in running teams of reporters on investigative projects. I'm skilled in conflict resolution and have more than a decade of experience in collective bargaining and union representation. I have broad international travel experience in Europe, Asia and Latin America. I speak passable Spanish and enjoy learning new languages.
