Claim your profileI am a general assignment news reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer covering the COVID-19 pandemic. My daily coverage includes reporting on pandemic trends, vaccination, government accountability, and data. Previously at the Inquirer, I was on the policy and solutions team and in our regional bureau, covering general news with a sprinkling of state politics, environmental contamination, transportation and assorted other stories that found me. My reporting has earned awards from the Keystone State Press Association, Society of Professional Journalists Keystone Spotlight and Associated Press. I have a master's degree in multiplatform journalism with an investigative emphasis from the Philip Merrill School of Journalism at the University of Maryland. I was a 2014 reporting fellow for News21, a Carnegie-Knight Foundation national investigative reporting initiative. During graduate school, I reported in Washington, D.C., covering the environment and other national issues. I have a passion for environmental and climate reporting.I was previously senior editor of Cake Central Magazine in Seattle and I have written for various news and arts publications on the West Coast. I graduated from the University of Puget Sound in 2012 with a degree in Foreign Language and International Affairs; my academic background encompasses French, Spanish, political science, and economics. I grew up in Santa Rosa, Calif., where I founded the school newspaper at Santa Rosa High School.
