Claim your profileI'm a producer/reporter/director of short documentaries, digital news stories and visual interactive projects for The New York Times, where I've been on staff since 2004.My work has been recognized by the national Emmy and Edward R. Murrow Awards, as well as The National Press Photographers' Association, the Online Journalism Awards, the Pictures of the Year Award, The Newswomen's Club of New York, the Katherine Schneider Award for Excellence in Reporting on Disability, The National Association of Black Journalists, and The Webby Awards. I've also contributed to coverage that won The Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Gold Baton and the Pulitzer Prize.I currently teach as an adjunct professor at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY, and have volunteered in teaching roles with The New York Times' Student Journalism Institute and the News Literacy Project.I studied English and Theater at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut and received a Masters in Human Rights Studies at Columbia University in NYC.When not doing the work I love, I can be found wandering around Brooklyn, swimming in Rockaway, screaming my head off for the NY Rangers, singing karaoke, and playing the same six guitar chords that I learned in college.
