I'm an award-winning science journalist living in Portland, Oregon. My writing has been published in Science, Scientific American, Eos, The New York Times, Discover, Popular Science, and Wired magazines. I've also scripted and appeared in NASA- and Google-funded videos about space science and have taught a variety of science communication-related workshops. I hold a B.S. degree in astrophysics from Yale University and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in astronomy from the University of California, Los Angeles.
