I'm a multi-faceted storyteller with a passion for using sound and visuals to connect with audiences. My journey has taken me from the bustling film sets of Chicago to the serene depths of the ocean explored through podcasts. While my background may seem unconventional, it's fueled by a deep curiosity and a desire to learn and create across disciplines.Fueled by a lifelong love of film and storytelling, I embarked on my academic journey with a Bachelor's degree in Film and Video at Columbia College Chicago. There, I delved into the art of editing, sound design, and production, laying the groundwork for a future career in crafting narratives. However, a deep curiosity about the natural world never left me, leading me to pursue a second Bachelor's degree in Biology at Northern Illinois University. This unique blend of artistic and scientific backgrounds allows me to approach storytelling with a multifaceted perspective.For five years, I was part of the creative team behind "Meet the Ocean," a non-profit podcast dedicated to ocean education. I wore many hats – sound designer, co-host, and social media manager – using my audio expertise to bring the ocean's wonders to life and crafting engaging social media content to connect with listeners.My ability to manage diverse projects and juggle various storytelling tools landed me a Social Media and Digital Content Manager position at 13 WREX. Here, I spearheaded the station's social media strategy, creating engaging content, managing live streams, and overseeing digital content for websites, apps, and OTT media. I thrived in this fast-paced environment, ensuring our content reached new audiences and resonated with the community.While my resume details my professional journey, it doesn't capture my enthusiasm for learning and sharing stories. I'm a firm believer in lifelong learning, evidenced by my diverse work experiences – from film production to retail. Each experience has equipped me with valuable skills and a unique perspective that I bring to my storytelling endeavors.Ultimately, I'm driven by a desire to connect with people through compelling narratives.
