Claim your profileI have graduated in the Spring of 2021 from Bridgewater State University as a senior. My passion is writing about social issues and dissecting them with the use of research to form my opinion about them. I want my readers to take action and change the world. First, I declared communications in my sophomore year because of my passion to write. The moment that I can recall to exemplify this was when I was the only student to write more than what I was tasked to in the final paper for my english class during freshman year because I wanted to. The prompt was to write and research about the major disciples which are humanities, sciences, and social sciences. Ever since I was an adolescent, I had a passion for listening and researching the deeper meaning of conscious hip hop music. Throughout my time as a student, I always wrote research papers on conscious hip hop music and how they related to social issues in America in multiple 'choosing of your own topic' prompts. Thus, I would join the student-run newspaper organization for the university and became apart of the team of writers for two years. I would be the one to constantly write opinion pieces on newsworthy events while reporting them that related to social issues and conceptual research articles. Simultaneously, I would also take multiple sociology classes to confirm my interest in sociology. and embark on a job shadow for the Rennie Center for Education Research and Policy. I had help from the LEAP for Education Incorporation, a program that provides students with educational, explorative, integrative, advisory, and high-quality services for career exploration that I have been apart of for close to nine years now to find this job shadow too. In my final year, my fellow comment staff writers and editors voted me as 'The Most Improved Writer.' The reasoning for for this was because of how coachable I was and my exceptional ability to receive constructive criticism and turning that feedback to great writing. Over the years, my writing improved significantly due to my honest and consistent efforts. I aspire to be a social journalist and work my way up to as a social policy writer and research to form my opinions for my readers to take action and change the world.
