I am a writer for CNN Features' Wellness section, focusing on numerous beats including mental health, brain function/cognitive decline, sleep, fitness, relationships, antidepressants, food additives, gastrointestinal health, and gender and sexuality. I also occasionally write for our Style section, covering costume design, fashion events such as the Met Gala, photography and more. I value journalism because aside from encapsulating all of my passions, it has the power to educate, hold power to account and serve as a catalyst for needed change. My dream is that my work has positive individual, societal and systemic impact. Previously, I worked as an associate writer, freelance associate writer and intern for CNN Features, and as an intern for CNN Health, where I worked alongside producers to research for investigative reporting by CNN's Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta and then-Senior Medical Correspondent Elizabeth Cohen. Prior to joining CNN, I interned in the digital news department of the NPR-affiliate Georgia Public Broadcasting, disseminating news via social media and reporting on local issues. I hold a bachelor's degree in journalism and a minor in African American studies from Georgia State University, where I also laid the foundations for my journalistic skills by reporting for the university's The Signal newspaper. Additionally, I serve as a member of the National Association of Black Journalists’ Health & Science Task Force, which works to promote diversity and editorial education in health and science journalism. As a 2024 National Press Foundation fellow, I deepened my expertise on trends, data and coverage regarding workplace mental health.
