Experience reporting on elections, state and federal legislation, campaign finance, border policy, abortion, education, and Indigenous communities. I tell stories that show how politics affects people.I interned at CBS 21 News in Harrisburg, PA -- at the heart of a crucial swing state in the competitive 2024 election. In this position, I conduct research and interviews for the station's politics shows 'Battleground PA' and 'Face the State.' I also write stories for the digital content desk and assist multimedia reporters and show producers in creating compelling daily newscasts. Previous to this role, I investigated the 'state of American democracy' as a fellow for the prestigious Carnegie-Knight News21 program. Alongside a team of talented student journalists, I wrote an explanatory analysis piece that used the voices of experts and voters to examine former President Donald Trump's lasting legacy on our democracy. I also assisted in the writing and production of a photo essay about the lives of the participants and protectors of the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.I wrote breaking news and feature stories as a politics reporter at Cronkite News' Phoenix bureau and a social justice reporter at its Washington D.C. bureau. I also studied at the Howard Center for Investigative Journalism, where I wrote a piece on a legal loophole in federal campaign finance law.
