Emmart prize for writing in the humanities. A longtime writing teacher and public speaker, Guroff is also the editor and publisher of Power Moby-Dick, an online annotation of Herman Melville's classic novel. Her cultural history of the bicycle, The Mechanical Horse, was published by the University of Texas Press in 2016.
