The harder a place is to reach, the more I want to be there. Growing up in the D.C. metropolitan area and spending summers in rural Montana gave me a deep interest in what makes people from all backgrounds click. During my time photographing in central Missouri, I became invested in how photographs work to foster a sense of identity and shared experience among those communities, small or large.As a documentary photographer, I approach the world with compassion, curiosity and humor. Trained in still photography, photo editing and videography, I understand how to create visuals that communicate a compelling story.Currently, I am a staff photographer at the Richmond Times-Dispatch. I have a Bachelor of Journalism and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Missouri. Additionally, I am currently working towards a Master of Arts in Photo and Documentary Journalism at the University of Missouri.
