Looking for wedding planners/coordinators to talk about wedding etiquette for an article tentatively titled "Hey brides: if you can't pay for your bridesmaids, you shouldn't have a bridal party." My main argument is that if the bride is inflexible and demanding things be a certain way that requires her friends to spend exorbitant amounts of money, she should cover the cost or otherwise not be offended if the friend(s) can't make it or needs to make alternate arrangements. Wanting to get professional insight on how this type of situation should be handled.
