Claim your profileI currently work for the Guardian as an assistant production editor on sport, working from home in sunny Cornwall.I have just finished a seven-year stint as the night editor on the sports desk and I'm now enjoying a little less stress in the south-west.Prior to my move to a national, I was at the Express & Star as acting group sports editor from May 2014-February 2015.I was employed for many years as the deputy sports editor, managing a team of 18 on the E&S and Shropshire Star sports desk.I'm a passionate believer in journalistic values but also our basic standards in life which, too often, are ignored. Originally from Liverpool, but now settled in the Midlands, I am a lover of most sports including football, cricket and rugby union. Although I'm now a sub, I still love to write and often poke fun at football's descent into celebrity oblivion. In my time as a reporter, I covered Premiership rugby at Worcester while also following Worcestershire at the home of cricket, New Road.In my spare time, I'm a keen follower of politics, working out and general tekkie stuff.
