ABC News is committed to science journalism. ---> I get things done. I operationalize ideas and bring them to fruition. I turn good into great and bring out the best in my employees and colleagues. We live in a society where innovation is a form of currency. But good ideas are only the start of the journey. As a master storyteller with extensive communications, media, content development, and marketing experience, I have the skills and expertise to bring those creative ideas from concept to fruition. I thrive on updating antiquated systems and improving the work of those around me. I have a keen eye for identifying opportunities and the experience to take advantage of them. Everyone has untapped potential. I have a proven track record of helping people achieve it. I've played an instrumental role in reinventing how news is produced and delivered through my role as Director of Storytelling and Managing Editor for NBCUniversal's LX News / NBCLX. I've pioneered new ways of covering the climate, created and overseen the production of nationally syndicated television programs, and developed several Sunday morning political shows. I've reimagined the local TV newscast and managed large teams of journalists and production professionals covering investigative, consumer, health, entertainment, and enterprise beats. And I've been a medical/health, investigative, enterprise, and climate reporter. I know how to bring out the best in my team, create aspirational goals that inspire them, and then remove the obstacles that get in their way. By teaching, mentoring, and modeling what's possible, I've repeatedly demonstrated that I can accomplish what others say can't be done. Always eager to share my knowledge and encourage innovation in our industry, I wrote an eBook called "Roadmap to News Innovation," regularly speak at conferences and events, and frequently guest lecture at colleges and universities nationwide. * National Edward R.
