Howdy! I'm Michaela, a journalist with the Fredericksburg Standard-Radio Post. I cover a wide variety of topics, including education, business and community. I also help run our social media channels and assist with our daily email newsletter. I am a former Report for America Corps Member and worked for the Dallas Free Press covering historically undercovered South and West Dallas neighborhoods. I graduated from Texas A&M in May 2023, where I worked at The Battalion student newspaper for three years. Under my leadership, the publication won a variety of collegiate journalism awards, from the Associated Collegiate Press, College Media Association, and the Texas Intercollegiate Press Association, as well as A&M's Adair Student Organization of Year, for our work across campus.
