Claim your profileMorgan Rimmer graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University, with B.A.s in Political Science and Spanish and a minor in History. She has interned for Senator Johnny Isakson (R-GA), as well as CNN. Both of these experiences brought her to Capitol Hill, where she dove in to the hustle of the legislative branch. While a CNN intern, she worked in newsgathering, chasing lawmakers across the Hill for sound bites. Beyond her love for politics and journalism, Morgan is an experienced traveller, having visited 17 countries by the time she turned 21. These include her semester abroad in Italy, where she expanded her language skills past English and Spanish, and studied Italian and European politics.Morgan worked as a News Associate at CNN for 10 months on the assignment desk and working with the Capitol Hill team, before transitioning in 2021 to cover Congress full time as an Associate Producer assigned to CNN Chief Capitol Hill Correspondent Manu Raju. During that period, she developed her reporting and producing skills, traveling to cover congressional primaries, the 2022 midterms, and other stories. In 2023 she took on greater responsibilities with the team's Senate coverage, and was promoted to Producer. When she wasn't focused on covering the ill-fated Senate border bill and stalled military nominations, she reported on budget negotiations and the weeks-long race for Speaker of the House.
