I cover startups, venture capital and the A.I. innovation scene in San Francisco for The New York Times. I am a member of the 2025-2026 Times Fellowship class, a program for early-career journalists. Previously, I covered San Diego's big and small businesses for my hometown paper, The San Diego Union-Tribune. My reporting included startups, entrepreneurs, technology, biotech and San Diego's public companies, such as Qualcomm and Illumina. I previously covered healthcare, biotech and managed special projects for the San Diego Business Journal. Overall, I have a passion for storytelling, multimedia projects and audio production. My earliest reporting experiences as a student brought me to Washington D.C. for the presidential inauguration and to Tijuana to learn from Mexican journalists. In 2019, I lived in New York City where I studied business journalism and worked as a Dow Jones News Fund intern for Fortune magazine. I also have investigative and data reporting experience from working in a local nonprofit newsroom, inewsource.
