Claim your profile* I bring 17 years of experience in communication and journalism in several media mediums, including newspapers, broadcasting, digital media and television. As a reporter, I developed knowledge in local government, education and typical stories you see in the news cycle. * As an assignment editor, I drive the wheel of communication in our newsroom. I inform our crews outside of the newsroom about what's happening and our producers inside the newsroom. I'm also experienced and have knowledge of researching stories, including social media and tools like Nexis and online court sites. I also help cut video, write Web stories, build newsletters and manage the station's social media account. * Following the Great Recession, I successfully built a hyperlocal news Website in Kansas City, KS., and Wyandotte County. I did this by selling advertising and writing the news stories. I did this for seven years and was successful, eventually expanding to Johnson County. At KCTV5, we et multiple records for video views online, which peaked at over 2.3 million views in December 2019. I was also a driving force in our station's largest Facebook reach ever, which happened early in the coronavirus pandemic.Honors & Awards * Regional Edward R.
