I work as a freelance journalist, researcher and cultural critic on a contract basis. I also work as a freelance translator for audiovisual and digital publication projects (Portuguese to English and vice-versa). In the past five years, I have written cultural criticism on films, TV shows, albums and digital cultures. I have experience covering live events (I worked as a fixer and freelance reporter during the 2014 FIFA World Cup), in writing op-eds and essays exploring a myriad of subjects, and in writing cultural criticism about audiovisual media. I also have experience in court reporting, local news gathering, high-profile interviewing, blogging and feature writing. I love to research complicated stories. I received a 2.1 in the best journalism course in the UK (University of Sheffield) in July 2012 and was shortlisted for the Daily Mail Graduate Scheme 2012. I have a Master's Degree in Women's Studies, where I critiqued and engaged with the representation of Brazilian women in Western tourism marketing material from 1964 to 1985, and just submitted my doctoral thesis on #MeToo and masculinity.
