For a Medscape article, I’m looking to speak with physicians who researched a prospective employer or medical practice and uncovered a significant red flag that caused them to decline the position or decide not to apply. Examples could include high physician turnover, concerning conversations with former employees, unrealistic productivity or patient-volume expectations, staffing or call issues, lawsuits or legal problems, financial instability, problematic partnership terms, physician autonomy concerns, or other issues you were glad you discovered before taking the job. You do NOT need to name the employer or practice. I’m interested in what you discovered, how you discovered it, how it affected your decision, and what you would advise other physicians to investigate before accepting a position. Please respond with a brief summary of your experience, what type of practice/employer you were considering, and your credentials.
